Smart Just Got Smarter: DESFire EV3 is Now Available
In line with best industry practices, ICT will be transitioning from MIFARE DESFire EV1 and EV2 to NXP’s latest iteration, EV3.
From the end of April 2023, EV1 and EV2 credentials will only be available for purchase until stock runs out — support will continue to be available after stock runs out. EV3 is backwards compatible, however, tSec Readers will need to have a firmware updated to 1.04.226.

Faster performance
EV3 sees increased reading distance for the credentials, enabling a quicker badge at the reader. Because the devices will begin reading the credential before its actually presented, this makes the whole process much quicker.
